The Today the lesson to be learnt was how to naturaly sculpt and highlight the face and then how to do highlight and sculpting more heavily.
First thing that happened is Branka (my teacher) started to prep the skin with Vitamin A oil and moisturiser.
After moisturising the skin, Branka started the demo. On one half of the face the heavier contour and highlight while on the other side the lighter more natural contour and highlight.
Natural contour and highlight,
First step-
Using a derma colour pallet create a neutral tone concealer from the colour selection to create a custom colour for the client. Conceal any blemishes with a concealer brush lightly tap product onto to the skin then using a buffing brush to blend in. Conceal eye sockets first then blend and afterwords use a warm tone such as D37 to buff into the skin.
Second-
Then go in with a foundation (Branka used Mac face and body) and buff into the skin.
Third-
To highlight use a mix of grease paint B Pallete, Branka used white as the highlighter but only a small amount.
Fourth-
For contour Branka once agin used the Grease Paint Pallete B. Using beige as a base colours Branka then used a little bit of brown and then a touch of red, grey and yellow to create a contour colour.
Fifth-
Place the highlight onto the bridge of the nose, the cheekbone and jawline.
Sixth-
Place the contour onto the temple area of the forehead under the jawbone and cheekbone.
The result of drawing these lines:
Seventh-
Blend first the highlight then the contour, rubbing excess product onto the palm of your hand or a tissue nearby to prevent a build up of product.
Eighth-
Finish this look with complimentary blush and lipstick and fill in eye brows.
Final look:
Heavier side;
Using Mac full coverage foundation create a thin base with no concealer. Warm up the foundation on the back of your hand. Buff into skin using a buffing brush and under eye and onto the eye area using a concealer brush and then a fluffy eyeshadow brush to buff into the skin:
Little goes a long with these products.
To highlight a bit of white and then the foundation colour to add warmth.
To contour a bit of grey and the darkest shade available then a bit of red an yellow to add warmth and then also a little bit of the foundation colour to let it blend into the skin better.
Repeat highlight like in the lighter side of this look same shape as before on the lighter side. To recall it looked like this:
Buff in the light side first and then the darker shade aka the contour.
To set the makeup you want to use powders in this order,
First use translucent powder and pat it on to ensure the makeup won't sweat off.
Then use a highlighter powder or vanilla pigment by Mac patting onto the pre highlighted areas and then buff in.
Then using sculpt powder by Mac and then going into contour areas pat onto the contour areas and then using a buffing brush blend into the skin.
Finish makeup with a brow and blush same as before.
Finished look on heavier side:
I was quite pleased with my own try at this, the things I would change or some of the colors I picked especially under the eyes as in the pictures they didn't seem to be concealed enough while in person it didn't appear that way. Overall though I'm pleased with the final look I create and one thing I was very pleased with was the eyebrows as that was an area I was struggling with before.
