2.10.15

Training has begun

In our first lesson back to college we were tasked to create a simple Victorian hairstyle which normally consists of a bun situated at the nape of the neck with two braids incorporated from the parting and then another two braids integrated from the front looped around the ears.

For this look I used the following:
-A hairbrush
-Pintail Comb
-Hair Pins
-Elastics

First,
I sectioned the hair down the middle of the hair and took two sections from the front and loosely braided them down tying off at the bottom once I was done.

Second,
I then took sections about an inch back from the front sections and braided them down and tied off with an elastic.

Third,
I then section the 4 braids away from the rest of the hair. I then combed the hair back towards the nape of the neck swooping it gently around the ear and then tied it securely in the back with an elastic.

Fourth,
Start braiding the ponytail section and once tied off with an elastic, twist it up into a bun and then start pinning with grips to secure the hairstyle.

Fifth,
Remove the pin securing the 4 braids. Taking the two middle section braids sweep them back into the bun and pin in.  Then grab the braids in the front and loop them around the ear and pin the ends into the bun.

Sixth,
Do final checks to makes sure everything is secure and then spray with hairspray to smooth and secure the hair.

Final Product,
