So todays lessons was wet setting which is the setting of the hair in rollers while wet and then drying either in a hood attached to a hair dryer or under a hair dryer.
We started off with watching a demo by our teacher, who instructed to set the rollers in a brick layer fashion so when the hair is set it falls nicer. Brick set is the setting of hair in an overlapping fashion rather than straight rows.
Sadly I ran out of rollers so I was unable to complete my roller set. Though I continued on anyway. Now I will tell you how I did it and then show you the final result and how I styled it,
What you need,
Spray bottle filled with water,
Pin tail comb,
Rollers,
Hair pins/ roller pins,
Drying tools
What you need to do,
First: Comb the hair profusely and once it's tangle free. Section hair from the middle roughly the width of your roller as well as the length as this will allow the hair to fit in the roller more comfortable and will end in a better curl.
Second: Comb the hair up straight to a right angle from the head and spray with water and then keeping tension tight roll the hair downwards while using the end of the pin tail comb push the ends around the roller.
Third: Pin the roller to the scalp, secure the roller and move on.
Fourth: Repeat steps one and two around the head.
Note: As motioned above I ran out of rollers but I still continued on.
Result:
As you can see you end with very voluminous curls that can have many uses.
Finished styles:
For my finished style I decided to do a loose half French braided do. I pulled the pieces so it was loose and very free looking but also showing off the volume that the curls provided.
After this style as I had a little more time I decided to braid the rest of the hair and tuck it into the space underneath the original braid which created this up do:
This again is very loose and quite elegant but the volume from the curls hasn't been lost.
Conclusion:
Next time I would like to complete the roller set and I would also use more styling products to really seal the style and smooth any frizz that's within the style.
