Harpers Bazaar

In 1867 Harper's Bazaar was founded by Harper & Brothers by editor, author and translator Mary Louise Booth in New York.  It was a weekly magazine when it first started publication that was sold to women in the middle and upper class society that showcased the fashion from Germany and Paris, it was in 1901 that Harper's moved to its monthly release which it still maintains to this day. It was in 1913 that the Hearst Corporation bought Harper's Bazaar and still owns and operates the magazine today while the UK is owned by The National Magazine Company. It is published in 32 countries including Germany, Australia, Russia and Taiwan.
Even though it is 149 years old this year, it still draws in the older generation more than the younger generation who are drawn into magazines like POP, i-D and Vogue. The content of Harper's Bazaar is again more suited to older women due to Fashion and make-up shown, while also showing more suitable clothing for the older generation while still remaining fashionable.
