Practice for my assessment

For my assessment I have to recreate the makeup of one of the shows I have researched I have chosen the Tanya Taylor show from 2014 for Spring Summer.

I like the clean skin and yet bold lip, the image below is the one I will be recreating.

To do this look I first used MAC prep and prime spray which I love it moisturises the skin while acting like a barrier between the skin and the makeup. I then went in with a concealing pallet (Crown)  to conceal any area that needed it and then after that I went in with MAC face and body (my model was a little bit of C1 with C3 mixed in) and first dabbed that into the skin and then buffed it in using a buffing brush. I also added a light contour to the face just to add some shape.

Next I did the eyes, I went in with MAC Brule and then Cork (MAC) to deepen the colour before putting a white under the eyebrow to highlight the brow bone. I then filled in the brows first putting MAC eyebrow gel through them to groom them into place and then filling in the brows with the Ben Nye Glam pressed powder pallet and I was done with the eyes.

For the lips I was confused on how to do a colour like that when we didn't have it in our kits, so I tried various combinations which were not working but it was alright.

This was my final look,

Then my tutor came over and told me how to get the lip colour which I tried and worked out better, so this was my final image.

Overall I feel confident my assessment will go well, I was able do this makeup in good time and I like how it turned out. A couple of things though I forgot to put mascara on cause for some reason I forgot about it, and also some of the makeup had smudged so that was something I will definitely watch out for in my assessment.

I did like how this worked out on my model I think it suited her skin colour and it seemed like anyone who had also tried it seemed to work for them.  Hopefully though I an replicate this look next week. Also here's a time lapse to demo the makeup,
