Up,up and away

Today's hair class was a chignon or a fancy word for a fancy bun. It started with our teacher showing us different styles that you can do but after that it was our turn.

As my dolls head was pre crimped there was a lot of frizz which made it quite impossible for the hairstyle to become smooth and sleek.

For the style I decided to add a french braid before creating the chignon. So I started off by combing the hair back and once that was completed I began the braid. Once the hair was french braided, I tied it off at the nape of the neck and then twisted the hair and formed it into a bun. I finished with hairspray and the style was completed.

To do a French braid:

Split the section of hair into three and then start to braid normally but after one or two passes start adding hair to the outer strands of the hair and then bringing them into the middle.

I honestly liked this style, though I wish I did it on straighter hair as I believe it would have come out much smoother and nicer looking, other than that I liked how it turned out. I also would have changed the shape of the bun because it didn't balance
