Another day another designer.
Today's designer is Burberry and more specifically there Autumn/Winter collection 2014 that they showcased at London Fashion Week.
This collection showcased floaty hand panted fabrics belted at the waist to showcase the models figures and add shape to the outfit with large tote bags and sheepskin jackets designed by Christopher Bailey.

Designer time- Zac Posen
Designers.
So something a little different for this blog, a little piece about designers and their work and how the makeup and the hair work to finish the whole look of the piece being showcased. The first designer I will be talking about is:
Zac Posen and the SS/15 Collection,
In Zac Posen's Spring/Summer Collection 2015 is where he showcased a collection of tailored clothing that complimented the models figures in a selection of monochrome outfits with the occasional red outfit.

Contouring and Highlighting
The Today the lesson to be learnt was how to naturaly sculpt and highlight the face and then how to do highlight and sculpting more heavily.
First thing that happened is Branka (my teacher) started to prep the skin with Vitamin A oil and moisturiser.

Light Side vs Dark Side
So another day another class today was with our Fashion makeup teacher Branka. Who started the lesson with a demo showcasing the difference between light and heavy makeup application.

The joys of wet setting.
So todays lessons was wet setting which is the setting of the hair in rollers while wet and then drying either in a hood attached to a hair dryer or under a hair dryer.
We started off with watching a demo by our teacher, who instructed to set the rollers in a brick layer fashion so when the hair is set it falls nicer. Brick set is the setting of hair in an overlapping fashion rather than straight rows.

Training has begun
In our first lesson back to college we were tasked to create a simple Victorian hairstyle which normally consists of a bun situated at the nape of the neck with two braids incorporated from the parting and then another two braids integrated from the front looped around the ears.
For this look I used the following:
-A hairbrush
-Pintail Comb
-Hair Pins
-Elastics
First,
I sectioned the hair down the middle of the hair and took two sections from the front and loosely braided them down tying off at the bottom once I was done.
Second,
I then took sections about an inch back from the front sections and braided them down and tied off with an elastic.
Third,
I then section the 4 braids away from the rest of the hair. I then combed the hair back towards the nape of the neck swooping it gently around the ear and then tied it securely in the back with an elastic.
Fourth,
Start braiding the ponytail section and once tied off with an elastic, twist it up into a bun and then start pinning with grips to secure the hairstyle.
Fifth,
Remove the pin securing the 4 braids. Taking the two middle section braids sweep them back into the bun and pin in. Then grab the braids in the front and loop them around the ear and pin the ends into the bun.
Sixth,
Do final checks to makes sure everything is secure and then spray with hairspray to smooth and secure the hair.
